Call for scores!

The Plattsburgh Clarinet Choir is accepting submissions for scores for clarinet choir for our annual concert, Clarinouveau, taking place in Montréal, Canada in collaboration with Chœur de clarinettes de Montréal on July 10-11, 2026.  Scores are free to submit and are being accepted until May 1st, 2026.

The Plattsburgh Clarinet Choir is dedicated to expanding the repertoire for the full clarinet family. We actively commission and premiere new works, with a strong focus on supporting composers from traditionally marginalized communities.

The PCC is looking to accept approximately six (6) compositions to premiere at their July 2026 Clarinouveau concert. This call for proposals is open to composers from the US and Canada regardless of age, background, or experience.

  • Works between 3 to 10 minutes are most likely to be selected

  • Works of any style, genre, or tradition are accepted

  • Only works that have not yet been performed in the US or Canada will be accepted

  • Arrangements or adaptations of existing works will be considered so long as the clarinet ensemble version has not previously been performed

  • Works can have up to 12 independent parts

  • Instrumentation may include any combination of the following clarinets: Eb, Bb, Alto, Bass, Contra-Alto, Contrabass

  • Full clarinet choir is encouraged (including at least one part for each clarinet listed above)

  • No electronics or instruments other than clarinets will be accepted

I acknowledge that PCC offers no money towards the commission of the new work, nor does the ensemble provide funds towards travel.  Selected composers are not required to attend the festival.

Full transposed score and parts are due upon notification of acceptance.

Clarinouveau is in its 4th consecutive year of championing new music through commissioning and premiering new music for clarinets - with no signs of stopping soon.  Scores that are not accepted for Clarinouveau 2026 will automatically be considered for future PCC events!
